New contract win
Journey Group plc, a leading provider of in-flight products and catering services to the international airline and travel industries is pleased to announce that Air Fayre CA Inc. (“Air Fayre”, the Group’s “US Division”) has been awarded a contract with a new customer WOW Air at Los Angeles International Airport (“LAX”).
WOW Air is a low-cost Icelandic airline founded in November 2011 which connects over 25 destinations across Europe and North America. Currently, the airline flies to Boston and Washington, DC and is adding Los Angeles and San Francisco to its portfolio of U.S. destinations from June 2016. WOW Air’s mission is to provide inexpensive flights to and from Iceland and across the Atlantic, targeting student travellers. Its fleet consists of Airbus A320, A321 and A330-300 aircrafts.
The multi-year contract is for Air Fayre to provide catering services out of its LAX facility for the four weekly flights from Los Angeles to Reykjavik which will commence on 14 June 2016. This will include Air Fayre designed menus for a buy on board offering, crew meal services and international waste handling, as well as the normal above wing services.
